Subject: Interesting!
Very nice! Cool interesting vibe throughout. All these close angles help create a claustrophobic sense of impending doom. Good work!!!

Subject: Sobaka modern amateur film noir-ish tale
Spoiler warning.

Story of immigrant to America who dreams of becoming successful and rich. But poor choices he makes lead to tragic consequences.

Set in LA, camera shows palm trees against empty sky but no shots of the city. Also, camera mostly shows close up shots of characters' faces. The film suffers from the camera work somewhat. It was monotonous with so many close up shots of characters. Pulling the camera back sometimes would have broken up the monotony. The dialogue could have been much better. So I gave it one star. Apparently a very low budget film.

Despite all that I enjoyed the film. The plot has an immature young man supporting a dying sister, infatuated with a call girl, who robs his drug dealing boss and then pays the price for that mistake. Crime does not pay, a film noir tale in a more modern setting.

This was probably the first effort for most of the people in the film. Still, the acting is sufficient to tell the tale. If you like amateur films, and film noir plots, you may like this one.
